Established in 2009-2010, L.A.S.E.R sponsors activities and events that study Latinos within and across the Americas with the aim of bringing together students, staff, and faculty from across the Ohio State University.
ABOUT
L.A.S.E.R., or the Latino & Latin American Studies Space for Enrichment and Research is an initiative formed precisely to bring together the Pan American scholarly purview of so many of the Latino Studies and Latin Americanist faculty here at the Ohio State University. L.A.S.E.R. provides the forum for faculty, students, and staff to engage with one another in scholarly discourse, ensuring that the most up to date body of knowledge and research concerning Latino and Latin American studies is communally dispersed.
L.A.S.E.R is an initiative and space for undergraduates, graduates, faculty and visiting scholars from around the world and working within a variety of research programs who can learn more from one another's research concerning Latino and Latin American history, culture, economics, literature, geography, and other areas.
L.A.S.E.R seeks to educate students, faculty, staff and the greater Columbus community about the opportunities for Latino and Latin American research and teaching.
